Wife of TV journalist lodges kidnap, harassment complaint against lady PSI

A woman has filed a police complaint against a lady police sub-inspector for allegedly harassing and abducting her husband.

Geetha Kumari, the wife of TV journalist Ram, who is facing rape and cheating charges, has filed a complaint with Kuvempu Nagar police against the police sub-inspector, who has leveled the rape charges.

In the complaint, Geetha has stated that Ram is missing since January 27 and is suspected that the PSI might have kidnapped her husband. According to the complaint, Ram left his house in Srirampura in the city, to Hunsur for work on January 27, but, did not return. Geetha has alleged that the woman has kidnapped Ram, as he declined to marry her.

According to the complaint, the PSI was a family friend and would visit the house of the reporter several times since 2014. Later, the PSI, also a divorcee, tried to befriend Ram, pestered him to marry her and also forced him to convert to Islam.

"When Ram declined, the PSI, along with a man, visited the house in July 2015 and threatened to kill Ram and the family members, using a service revolver. The PSI also demanded Rs 20 lakh in cash and threatened to humiliate and defame him, if he failed to pay the ransom amount.

Kuvempu Nagar police are investigating the case.
