The Karnataka High Court on Friday termed the proposed Bengaluru Bandh on February 4 as unconstitutional.
The court was hearing a public interest litigation filed by Shraddha Parents Association seeking directions to restrain the proposed bandh by Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha in the city on February 4.
Kannada activists led by Vatal Nagarj have called for the bandh seeking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention settle the Mahadayi water dispute.
A division bench of acting chief justice HG Ramesh and Justice P S Dinesh Kumar also directed the state government to take all preventive action as it deems necessary for the same.
The matter was adjourned for two weeks
