The children's shandy market at Government Model Primary School on Monday caught the attention of people who came to the campus.

Everybody was in praise of the children for arranging various items in a presentable manner and for using their skills of communication to sell the items.

Marketing skills

Inaugurating the children's shandy market, headmistress K R Rani said that programmes of these kind help to develop marketing skills among students.

The school management had provided facilities to put up stalls on the school premises, where the children displayed items of day-to-day usage, which they sourced from their homes.

Offers for customers

The children provided attractive offers to 'customers' by announcing competitive rates. Teachers and guests on the occasion were the customers.

A wide variety of commodities, from vegetables, fruits, salads, chocolates and snacks, was featured during the sale. Some of the items were yams, sweet potatoes, 'chur muri', 'bonda' and tamarind candy.

School Development and Monitoring Committee chairman K T Srinivas, senior teacher H H Prakash, teachers K K Gayatri, C K Bharati, Sarala, Suma and Neelamma were present.
