Cultural programmes enthral crowds at Shravanabelagola

While religious pujas and aradhanas are being performed as part of Mahamastakabhisheka at several places in the town, artistes from across the state are presenting a variety of programmes every evening to keep the crowds entertained.

The cultural programmes held at Chavundaraya Mantap have been providing perfect entertainment to thousands of devotees who are part of the mega event at Shravanabelagola.

The cultural programmes are being organised by the district administration, in association with the Kannada and Culture department. The 'Mallakamba' programme by members of Taralabalu Kala Sangha of Chitradurga district was much appreciated by the audiences on Tuesday evening.

The audience were spellbound to see girls walking with much ease on a rope. They performed the tricks in rhythm with music playing in the background. A small girl, who walked the rope blindfolded, attracted a huge round of applause from the audience.

Chintan Vikas and Janni troupe from Bengaluru performed to the Kannada numbers 'Kolu mande jangamadeva.... and Keliside kallu kallinalli Kannada nudi... and many other film and folk songs and enthralled the viewers.

Artistes of SMS Band School of Hassan performed to the song on Bhagwan Bahubali and also to the popular Kannada song 'Huttidare Kannada nadalli huttabeku'.

Udaykumar Mallik, an artiste from Delhi and K S Vaishali from Bengaluru performed Hindustani vocal. Arsikere taluk's Kellangere Basavaraju and troupe presented Saxophone, Vagmi troupe of Bengaluru performed dance drama, Doddabeekanahalli Samskrutika Yuva Vedike team performed Kolata and Mysuru's Minchu team presented a dance programme.
