Two securitymen injured in encounter with militants

Acting on specific information, security forces launched an operation in Tangdhar near the Line of Control, 140 kms from here, last evening.

As the search party reached the area, the militants hiding there opened fire resulting in injuries to two securitymen. A gunbattle then broke out between the two sides and was continuing when reports last came in.

Five militants are believed to be hiding in the area which is close to the LoC, police said.
