Abhishek, Poorvisha emerge champions

Abhishek scored a convincing 21-14, 21-19 win over Rajas Jawalkar in the final at the Karnataka Badminton Association courts.

Abhishek took the first game pretty easily but had to ward off a stiff challenge from Jawalkar in the second game before winning the second game and the match.

It was day of double joy for Siddarth S, who won the boys’ under-16 singles and doubles crowns.

Siddarth eased out Harshith Agarwal 21-15, 21-16 in the singles final and then he teamed up with Harshith A to beat KV Rakshith and Jaswanth Gowda pair 21-14, 21-17 in the doubles summit clash.

In the girls’ section, Poorvisha S Ram, who lost to Mahima Agarwal in the under-19 final on Sunday, made amends for her miss by overpowering Reshma Karthik 21-12, 21-10 in the under-16 title round at the KBA courts on Monday.

Mahima Agarwal continued her good form as she defeated K Ashwini Bhat 21-19, 21-15 in the under-13 final to complete a grand double.

Mithun Manjunath outclassed Abhishek R 21-10, 21-10 to pocket boys’ under-13 title.
