<p>Raitha Sena president Veeresh Sobaradmath said on Sunday that he would file a Public Interest Litigation in the Supreme Court demanding diversion of Mahadayi water to Malaprabha basin for drinking purpose.</p>.<p>He was speaking at a rally - Doctors' walk towards farmers - organised by the Indian Medical Association as part of the 400-kilometre padayatra from Bengaluru to Nargund by IMA state president Dr H N Ravindra. Sobaradmath said that in a 500-page judgement delivered by the Supreme Court with regard to sharing of Cauvery waters, the apex court had made it clear that drinking water projects should be given top priority and no government should block it.</p>.<p>"Backed by this award, we will file a PIL in the apex court, demanding release of drinking water to the drought-prone Malaprabha basin," he said.</p>
