Prime Minister Narendra Modi will look after the Ministry of Civil Aviation too as  President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday accepted the resignations of TDP Ministers Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Y S Chowdary.

Raju was Cabinet Minister for Civil Aviation while Chowdary was Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences.

In a communique about acceptance of resignations, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said, "further, as advised by the Prime Minister, The President has directed that the work of the Ministry of Civil Aviation will be looked after by the Prime Minister."

Raju and Chowdary had handed over their resignation letters to Modi on Thursday evening after TDP announced its decision to pull out the ministers from the government over the demand for special category status for Andhra Pradesh. However, TDP will remain part of the ruling NDA alliance.
