Last Updated 20 March 2018, 12:23 IST
The threat of a strike halting Namma Metro in its tracks from Thursday has been removed with the employees agreeing to wait for a month for the BMRCL to settle the issues.

The move came after Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) submitted to the Karnataka High Court that they were ready to hold bilateral talks with the union members to deliberate on demands. The talks commence from March 26 for a period of one month and the meetings will be held thrice a week.

Meanwhile, members of the union noted that the court has not vacated the stay on ESMA.

"The court has not lifted stay on ESMA.It has directed the management to have bilateral talks with the union office bearers and solve the issues within 30 days from today. Until then, the strike is deffered. We will participating in the meeting, where four members nominated by honorable high court will represent the union," a union member said.
