MUMBAI/THANE, DHNS: The interrogation of celebrity lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui, who was arrested for allegedly procuring the Call Data Records of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's wife, has revealed details about the public spat between Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan.

Kangana had allegedly shared Hrithik's number with the lawyer, the intention of which the police is probing.

However, the lawyer, who was arrested by the Crime Branch of the Thane police, was released from police custody following an order by the the Bombay High Court.

Another prominent name that has cropped up is that of Ayesha Shroff, actor Jackie Shroff's former wife and Tiger Shroff's mother. Ayesha had shared the CDR of business partner and actor Sahil Khan with Siddiqui.

Kangana, in a statement, said, "Proper investigation should be carried out before making assumptions. When we respond to a notice, we give all details to lawyer. To assume that these details were used to violate law and make statements based on that assumption and defame an artiste is super lame on Abhishek Trimukhes part. Proper investigation should be carried out before making assumptions."

Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Trimukhe said, "The mobile and laptops of Rizwan Siddiqui were seized. These were analysed... we came to know that Kangana Ranaut shared one of Hrithik Roshan's numbers with Siddiqui way back in 2016. We do not know the purpose... it is under investigation. We have given a letter to the nodal officer of the service provider."

So far, the Thane Crime Branch has arrested 12 people, including Siddiqui, India's first lady private detective Rajani Pandit, a police constable from Yavatmal, an IT expert from Pune and several private detectives.

More than 250 CDRs, which include those of businessmen and celebrities, have been seized from their possession during the investigations that have been going on for the last two months.

Kangana's family, in response to the allegations, echoed the actor's sentiments. "When we respond to a notice, we give all details to lawyer. To assume that these details were used to violate law & make statements based on that assumption, & defame an artist is super lame @abtrimukhe . Full investigation should be carried out before making assumptions," Kangana's sister Rangoli Chandel tweeted.
