'Karnuru Smruti Parva' in Bengaluru

'Karnuru Smruti Parva', a programme n memory of Yakshagana artiste late Karnuru Koragapa Rai, will be organised at Buntara Sangha, Vijayanagar in Bengaluru on April 1.

Addressing reporters, organiser Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli said Dr M Prabhkar Joshi will inaugurate the programme. Buntara Sangha (Bengaluru) president Darbe Chandrahasa Rai will preside over programme, he added. The valedictory programme will be presided over by Alva's Education Foundation Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva. KPSC Chairman Dr K Shyam Bhat will also be present. Yakshagana artiste Seetarama Kumar Kateel will be felicitated with the 'Karnuru Prashasti 2018' on the occasion. Also, Kalasampada Award will be presented to Rajesh Shetty Kutyar, Vasudeva Mayya, Koltige Narayana Gowda, Airodi Govindappa, K R Bhat Bellare and Vijaya Shetty Haladi. As a part of the programme, a Yakshagana Talamaddale 'Veera Taranisena' will be performed in the morning and a Yakshagana play 'Bhasmasura Mohini' will be performed.

Karnuru Koragapa Rai's son and programme convener Karnuru Subhash Rai, son-in-law Arun Shetty, artistes Karunakar Shetty and Laxminarayana Rai Harekala were present.
