Cong, NCP leaders, BJP rebel at Yashwant's meet

In a significant development, top Congress and NCP leaders, including Maharashtra former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, were seen at a meeting held by political action group 'Rashtra Manch' launched by senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha.

Rebel BJP MLA from Katol, Nagpur Ashish Deshmukh was also present. Emerging out of the meeting, Deshmukh said,  "I  will not be saying anything about the meeting. It was not really a political meeting."

Others  attendees include senior Supreme Court lawyer and NCP leader Majeed Memon, journalist and media personality Pritish Nandy, former railway  minister Dinesh Trivedi of TMC, Congress MP Kumar Ketkar, NCP MLA Dr Jitendra Ahwad, political and social activist Sudheendra Kulkarni, Mahatma Gandhi's great-grandson Tushar Gandhi, AAP national spokesperson Preeti Sharma Menon and Justice (Retd) Abhay Thipsey.

The meeting was held at the office of the Moneylife Foundation at Shivaji Park-Dadar.

The Mumbai meeting comes a  couple of days after Sinha and disgruntled BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha met West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee to appreciate her on the efforts to bring together all regional forces against the Narendra Modi government ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
