Mysuru Police website 'hacked'

Miscreants allegedly hacked the website of the Mysuru City Police ( on Sunday.

They uploaded posts defaming the national flag and posted slogans like 'Pakistan Zindabad' on the home page.

However, the police denied the hack and claimed that the post appeared due to technical glitches. The police noticed a new page with the post 'Mysuru City Police Website - Government of India Hacked'. The page also displayed a few people defaming the 'Indian Flag' and the message 'Pakistan Zindabad'.

The police suspect that the page might have been created on Saturday midnight. The incident came to light when the police checked the site on Sunday morning and alerted senior officers. The technical team later removed the post.

Police Commissioner Dr A Subrahmanyeswara Rao told DH the website was not hacked and it was due to a virus attack. "The service provider cleared the posts. No documents have been damaged," he said.
