Shah to attend convention at Kaginele today

MLC Raghunath Malkapure and former MP K Virupakshappa clarified that BJP National President Amit Shah would attend the BJP's backward classes convention to be held at Kaginele near Haveri on Tuesday (April 3).

Mr Shah's programmes in Belagavi and Bagalkot districts could not take place on Monday, were as he had to attend Rajya Sabha session in connection with an important bill, they told media persons here on Monday.

Mr Malkapure noted that more than three lakh people are expected for Kaginele convention, and it has no link with Sangolli Rayanna Brigade which is a non-political organisation.

On Brigade

Mr Virupakshappa noted that Sangolli Rayanna Brigade is still alive and it would be active after the elections. He also stated that he is an aspirant for BJP ticket to contest from Sindhanur constituency in Raichur district in forthcoming Assembly elections.

Shah visit

As per Mr Amit Shah's tour programme released by the State BJP, he will come to Hubballi Airport by a special flight at 3:00 pm, and will leave for Kaginele by helicopter. After attending the convention at Kaginele from 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm, he will visit Badami in Bagalkot district, and hold an interaction with seers at Shivayoga Mandir at 6:00 pm. From Hubballi Airport, he will leave for Delhi at 9:30 pm.
