Election commission officials intercepted a so-called press vehicle distributing non-vegetarian food to people near the Vasudeva Kalyana Mantapa in North Bengaluru's Dasarahalli Assembly constituency on Sunday.
The car with the registration number KA 41/M 5889 sported a banner of the KPCC president, G Parameshwara. Acting on a tip-off, officials of the special election squad seized the car and booked the owner and the driver for violating the model code of conduct.
The suspects had put up the 'press' sticker to avoid police glare. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
