Another rowdy nabbed in shootout in city

A 31-year-old rowdy-sheeter who tried to evade arrest by attacking policemen with a machete was shot and captured by the Mahadevapura police on Thursday.

Charan, a resident of Cauvery Nagar, is the ninth rowdy-sheeter to be arrested in a shootout in the last two months.

The police were on a manhunt to nab him in connection with an attempt to murder case of another rowdy sheeter Ajay. Charan and his associates had attacked Ajay on March 3.

Based on Ajay's statement, the police laid a trap to nab him.

They cornered Charan near Singayyanapalya railway land on Thursday around 11.30 am. Charan tried to evade arrest and attacked the police. The police fired in retaliation and arrested him.
