More flights from next month

Hubballi Airport, which is now connected with Bengaluru and Mumbai, will host more flight services connecting Hubballi with more cities, from May 14.

Under UDAN scheme, SpiceJet would operate its flights between Hubballi and other cities, and the schedule for flight operations to begin on May 14 is now released.

Accordingly, SpiceJet will operate two flights to Bengaluru, and one each to Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai daily. Flights to Mangaluru and Jabalpur will go via Bengaluru and Mumbai respectively. Hubballi will also have air service to Ahmedabad, Delhi, Cochin, Kolkata, Patna and Pune, though connecting flights.

SpiceJet will operate some more flights from Hubballi, in the second phase from October 28.

Karnatak Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) has thanked the authorities concerned for taking steps to improve the air connectivity, and also the Union Government for assuring to open BIS branch office in Hubballi.
