Sons of CM, BSY call on Revanasiddaiah

A day after BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa's son B Y Vijayendra met Congress leader LRevanasiddaiah seeking his support, Dr Yathindra, son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah called on him and urged him to stay put in the party, reports DHNS from Mysuru.

Vijayendra and Dr Yathindra are likely to contest from the Varuna Assembly segment on BJP and Congress tickets respectively.

Revanasiddaiah, former Director General of Police and a prominent Lingayat leader, said, he will decide on his political move shortly.

Dr Yathindra said, "Revanasiddaiah is not active in the Congress. I have requested him to be with the Congress. Siddaramaiah will meet him soon," he said.

However, Revanasiddaiah said, "I worked for the Congress party, but the leaders failed to encourage me to do more work."

Defeated twice

Revanasiddaiah suffered defeat twice against Siddaramaiah. In 2004, he contested from Chamundeshwari Assembly segment on the Congress ticket and lost to Siddaramaiah, who was a JD(S) candidate then.

In 2008, Revanasiddaiahjoined the BJP and contested from Varuna, but was again defeated by Siddaramaiah, who had switched to Congress.

But, in 2013 elections, Revanasiddaiah backed Siddaramaiah and campaigned for him.
