'Are govt officers in state dead?' asks Yeddyurappa

The BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday charged that the government in the state is dead.

"The government is dead. What about government officers? Are they dead, too?" he asked during his visit to a paddy field in Vidyanagar here.

"There is no water for the paddy crop due to mismanagement of water by officials at the Tungabhadra reservoir. Farmers have incurred a loss of around Rs 500 crore," he said.

Later, he consumed prasad prepared out of rice received during Mushti Akki Abhiyana and began interaction with farmers at Chennabasava Kalyan Mantap.

He vowed to protect farmers interests if the BJP was voted to power.
