Narrating the details, Chandra Mohan, leader of the Karnataka Legislators Association Secretariat said that a pregnant monkey died inside the premises of building number 4 when it came in contact with a live electric wire on May 23.  It fell onto the sharp grill of a compound and died.

Employees, who later buried the monkey inside the premises of the building approached the priest of the Gali Anjayaneya Swamy Temple in Vijaynagar and asked whether any purificatory rites should be performed to redress the inauspicious happening.

The priest is learnt to have advised them to construct a shrine in memory of the dead animal at the place where it was buried.

The 13th day ‘Shanti’ programme in memory of the monkey was held at the premises on Thursday and around 300 employees took part.
