'Officials must compulsorily attend Janaspandana'

Speaking at the Mangalore A hobli level Janaspandana programme held here on Monday, he said measures have been taken to solve the problems raised in the Janaspandana step by step.

He assured to provide solutions to all the problems. The discussion with the Chief Minister and Minister for Urban Development on the integrated development of the district has been fruitful. The land will be acquired for the road widening from Nanthur to Talapady by understanding the situation.

To a query related to revenue department, Tahsildar Manjunath said for the mutation of 32 villages, the entire village maps have been prepared. Changes have been made in the technology. If anyone submits an application, information will be given. The problem which existed in issuing caste certificate has been solved. He also assured to overcome the problem of shortage of surveyors to carry out the survey at the earliest.

He said there was miscommunication between revenue department and treasury over the disbursement of widow pension and Sandhya Suraksha yojane. However, the communication gap will be rectified and all the eligible will be given the facilities.  
To a query on the functioning of Mangalore City Corporation, Commissioner Dr Vijayaprakash said action will be initiated against the guilty. To a query on road, drainage, parking facility, he said a task force has been constituted under the guidance of Joint Commissioner to carry out the work on desilting of drainages, thus to mitigate artificial flood.

He said “plastics are mainly responsible for the clogging of storm water drains and underground drainages. The plastics will be cleared using JCB from the drains. The services of gangmen will be utilised whenever it is necessary. There is no scope for misappropriation in MCC,” he added.

MLA said “the feeders in the city have been overloaded. There will be disruption in power supply if KSRTC and Jeppinamogaru sub station work is not carried out.” Mayor Rajani Dugganna said “MCC and police should carry out joint operation against the parking of vehicles on footpath.”  The Janaspandana programme also discussed on child labour, distribution of ration cards. Deputy Mayor Rajendra Kumar, and others were present.
