Tree carpets galore

The best part of summer are the flowers. You’d find tree carpet roads and yards of orange, yellow, blue and purple across the City. Each colour brings with it new life and energy.

The Queen’s Flower comes in beautiful shades of lavender, pink, purple. They bloom in bunches and make the tree look full from a distance. The Gulmohar, also known as the Flame of the Forest, is synonymous with summer. It’s found in parks and by the roadside. Most children make fake nails with the calyxes of the flowers.

The Golden Tabebuias is most prominent at the Cauvery Circle. They’re found in plenty in and around Vidhana Soudha and Cubbon park. You’d find a thick yellow carpet wherever it stands.  Then there are the Jacarandas that are cooling. The White Ipe, a blend of pink and cream flowers are abundant near the Edward V’s statue, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
