JOIN USScheme Joint Co-ordinator V Madhusudhanan said that Rs 10 lakh each will be sanctioned to GPs, while Rs 25 lakh each will be allotted to BPs for the construction of ‘Bharatha Nirmana Kendra’.
While 115 sq ft buildings will be provided for GPs, BPs will have 290 sq ft buildings. Funds will be released through MGNREGS. The construction work of Bharatha Nirmana Kendra should be handed over to contractors. Scheme members should take up the work themselves without using machinaries, he added.
The meet also has decided to make registration under the National Swasthya Bheema Yojna comprehensive. Officials informed that a total of 30,000 BPL families can register for the insurance scheme in the district.
In the previous year, while 46,826 people had registered for the insurance, 7,700 had availed the medical facilties. Zilla Panchayat President M V Balakrishnan presided.
