Failing in SSLC exams, two girls end lives

Pooja (15) daughter of B Swamy, Belagola in Srirangapatna taluk set herself ablaze. She was a student of Mathrumandali School in Kuvempu Circle in Vontikoppal in Mysore.

Of the total six subjects, she had failed in English, Science, Mathematics and Hindi.  She returned home from school after seeing exams results, only to kill self. She was alone at that time, it is learnt. KRS Police have registered a case.

In another incident, Sudharani, daughter of Ravigowda, of Niluvagilu Ramenahalli in Hunsur taluk in the district hanged herself. She was a student of Government Composite PU College in the town. She had been to the college along with her brother.

On learning about the result, she returned home depressed. Sudharani coaxed her brother to join their parents working in agricultural fields, before taking the extreme step.
