Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, President of Udupi District Karate Association Anand Ganiga said that as many as 800 Karate artists are expected to take part in the competition.
The matches are played in the model of rotation team kumite, a game technique rarely played in these parts. President of Dakshina Kannada Fish Traders Federation Yashpal Suvarna will inaugurate. Industrialist Pramodh Madhvaraj will preside, he said.
Principal of Government Pre University College, Malpe, Meti Mudiyappa, CMC Member Vijay Kunder and President of Pallu U K F Asia C Hanumanth Rao will be the chief guests on the occasion, he added.
