Adyanthaya to take part in Hague meet

  The conference is being held in association with International Labour Organisation.
Addressing a press meet, he said the Convention concerning the Prohibition and Immediate Action for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour, known in short as the Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, was adopted by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 1999 as ILO Convention No 182. Though 170 countries have ratified the Convnetion, India is yet to ratify it. By ratifying this Convention No 182, a country commits itself to taking immediate action to prohibit and eliminate the worst forms of child labour. 

He said all the countries of the world have to ratify the convention No 182 by 2016. When India has largest mid-day kitchen in the world, SSA, system of free distribution of textbooks, uniforms and other welfare programmes for the children, it is a tragedy that the country is yet to ratify the Convention 182.
