DC proposes, Mayawati disposes

In a press release issued here, Mayawati said the order was “improper” and “impractical” and directed that it be cancelled forthwith.

The district magistrate in his order on Saturday said stern action would be taken against the school students if they were found in the parks or malls in uniform.

The order came in the wake of growing incidents of eve teasing, brawl and suicides in the shopping malls in the city during the past few months.

A couple of days ago, a girl had allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of a shopping mall in the city after having a fight with her lover.
