Last Updated 10 May 2010, 17:38 IST

According to police, Venkateshamurthy had paid advance to shift to a house in Gopala area of the City a month ago.

He had entered into an agreement with the owner of the house, consenting to pay Rs one lakh advance and Rs 20,000 as monthly rent. The agreement was for a period of three months.

However after the Halappa incident became public, neighbours had pressurised the owner not to entertain Venkateshamurthy. The owner had even decided to return the advance amount and terminate the agreement.

Police interfered at this juncture and asked the owner to allow Venkateshamurthy to stay at the house till June end.
