Apart from the recent political developments in the State, the three-hour-long secret meeting mainly discussed about the Cabinet expansion next month.

Except prominent leaders of the BJP and the RSS no one was allowed inside the meeting room.

The Thursday meeting had gained significance as the BJP National General Secretary H N Ananthkumar had come to the City from Delhi in a special flight to attend the meeting.

It was learnt that the meeting also discussed about Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa trying to convince senior leaders in the party to induct former minister Shobha Karandlaje into the Cabinet. State BJP unit president K S Eshwarappa, Minister Jagdish Shettar, MP Prahlad Joshi, RSS leader Mangesh Bhende and others were present in the meeting.

Later, speaking to the media persons, Eshwarappa agreed that they held a closed-door meeting. He said, “There is nothing special. We all are RSS workers. We seek guidance and advice from RSS leaders whenever we need. We need not disclose the details.”
