JOIN USThe tribals of the region were shocked after Munda stitched the private parts of his wife Savitri Munda, accusing her of adultery.
“Since he belongs to Malhar samaj, the santhalis and other tribal groups can’t punish him straight away going by the norms of the tribal society. However, we have unanimously decided not to maintain any relationship with him. Action will be taken against those found to be at speaking terms with him. Youths have been asked to help the police arrest him,” said Mangal Tuddu, treasure of Adivasis Santhal Samaj.
A resident of Damodarpur locality of the coal city, the victim Savitri is currently recuperating at the Patliputra Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Dhanbad. According to the police, Sannimar Munda got angry when Savitri wanted to visit her father. Accusing her of having an extra-marital affair at her father’s place, he branded her private parts with hot iron rod and later sewed it with wire.
Savitri is stated to be out of danger. However, her husband continues to be absconding.
