Kempegowda 500th birth anniversary celebrations

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the foundation stone laying ceremony for a new block at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat, Transport Minister R Ashok said the State government had already earmarked Rs two crore for the celebrations. The State’s art and cultural heritage will be showcased at the meet.

He said Bangalore’s famed Karaga Utsava will henceforth be celebrated as Bangalore Habba.

Earlier, senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Venkaiah Naidu laid the foundation stone for the Artists Convention Centre at the Chitrakala Parishat. Naidu who had released Rs 25 lakh from his MP Local Area Development Fund for the construction of the Centre, said he would release an additional Rs 25 lakh fund soon.
