Reddy misleading people: Poojary

Last Updated 17 May 2010, 17:28 IST

Addressing a press meet here, he said as per the People’s Representation Act Article 192, Governor can summon a Minister. He alleged that Reddy has not read Supreme Court Judgement on mining by him and Obulapuram Mining Company properly.

The Court had only given interim judgement and allowed the Reddy brothers to go for mining in non disputed area and the court had not given a clean chit to Reddy. In fact, Janardhan Reddy is misleading the people of the State, he added.

Poojary said Government is keeping quiet against illegal mining.

It is protecting the culprits. In fact, when the government passed a notification making every load of ore lorry to pay a royalty of Rs 1,000 to the government, Reddy brothers threatened Yeddyurappa. Finally, heading to the pressure, the notification was withdrawn. If Yeddyurappa was honest, he would not have kept quite when so much hue and cry was made against illegal mining in the State,” he added.

The sting operation carried out by Headlines Today—Tehelka’s investigation has caught on camera Pramod Muthalik, accepting money to create communal violence, still the government is protecting Muthalik. There is no government in the State. With such instances of protecting the culprits, the government and CM is giving a wrong messages on elected representatives to the people, he added.

To a query on nationalisation of mining, he said Centre should seriously think of it and implement it before it being looted.
