Groom among five killed in collision near Bellare

The deceased have been identified as Mohan (45), Bomanna (55), Narayana (40), Annu (60) and Parameshwari (50).  Mohan had entered wedlock on Sunday. The accident occurred when they were on their way to take part in ‘Tuppa karyakrama’ after marriage to the bride’s house at Aramanegaya in Aranthod of Sullia from Belthangady. The lorry driver Mohammed fled the spot soon after the accident. Eight persons - Yamuna, Jayaprakash, Chandrappa, Suresh, Chokkaiah, Gayathri, Ramanand and jeep driver Narayana Gowda have sustained injuries. A case has been registered.
