On stage

The Arangetram of Sanjana Reddy M, a disciple of Padmini Ramachandran, will be held on May 22, 5.45 pm at Ravindra Kalakshetra, J C Road.


Shruti Singh’s Bharatanatyam Arangetram will be held on May 23, 5.30 pm at Chowdiah Memorial Hall. Shruti has completed her junior diploma in dance from the Bangiya Sangeet Parishad with distinction. She has also completed her Bharatanatyam junior exam conducted by the Karnataka State Examination Board. She is a disciple of Mamatha Karanth, the founder and director of Natyalahari.


A Bharatanatyam duet performance by Nirupama and Akshatha will be held at Yavanika, State Youth Centre, Nrupathunga Road on May 21, 6.30 pm. The programme will be presented by the Indian Council For Cultural Relations.

Various styles

Kuchipudi exponent Vyjayanthi Kashi has conceived Celebrate Dance series, a year-long programme. She has roped in legendary gurus and performers of various styles to conduct workshops on the lines of Guru Shishya Parampara at Shambhavi Dance Theatre in Kengeri.

Celebrate Dance series is also inviting dance aspirants to a professional workshop in Kathak from May 21 to 23 by Kathak exponent Rajendra Gangani concluding with a grand performance on May 23 by Gangani at Shambhavi Dance Theatre.

This will be followed by a Kuchipudi workshop, conducted by Vyjayanthi Kashi, from June 25 to 27. From July 16 to 18, there will be a Mohiniattam workshop conducted by Bharathi Shivaji. For details, call 9448146110.
