The winds are blowing at 20 to 25 km speed every hour and as the turbulence increased in the Arabian sea fishing became very difficult and the traditional and motor powered boats were forced to return.

The atmosphere in the sea has changed completely since the last two days due to strong winds. The boats returned to the harbour to take shelter.

“We left Malpe port two days ago to fish near Goa. But suddenly due to strong winds, it was very difficult to spread the fishing net. Hence we were forced to return. Once the wind slows down, we will return to the sea,” said the fishermen, speaking to Deccan Herald. As thousand of boats returned to the Karwar harbour, many were finding it difficult to anchor due to shortage of space.
