Last Updated 25 May 2010, 19:37 IST

An official said flight arrivals and departures of Air India were not affected till late Tuesday night. “Air Corporation Employees Union, that has supported the strike does not have the support of all employees.

Ground handling and catering for Air India has been outsourced, while cabin crew have reported for duty at BIA. So, there is no question of Air India flights being affected. There have been no cancellations either,” said V Chandrasekhar, Senior Manager (Corporate Communications), Air India (Bangalore).

However, another source said Air India had booked few seats on Jet and Kingfisher flights for its passengers to New Delhi and Mumbai, should any flash strike affect/hamper flight operations.  “A few flight departures of Air India were delayed by half an hour with passengers being asked to wait,” said sources.
