Film fest

A  film festival called L'indiscrète will be held from May 27 to 29, 6.30 pm at Alliance Francaise Auditorium. The films are selected from Indian film institutes and media schools. L'indiscrète is a project of subtitling 25 Indian short films in French. Entry
is free.

‘Ham-ateur Nights’

Stand-up comedian Vir Das is back with Weirdass Ham-ateur Nights but this time in a complete new avatar with the comedy Guru Mystro Ravi Darsaan. The night will also introduce ten brand new comic talents along with winners of the last Ham-ateur Night. There will be stand-up comedy, musical comedy, mime, impersonations along with professional performance by Kavi Shashtri and a Vir Das performance. The event will on May 28 and the venue is Opus.   

Woven dreams

Vermilion House will exhibit Ramanand Basak, a collection of woven dreams, on May 28 and 29, 11 am to 6.30 pm. Ramanand Basak is an expert handloom artisan of Fulia. Vermilion House is located at 3/12, Cleveland Road, Fraser Town. For details, call 41225830.


Five films on climate change and environment, made under the UK Environment Film Fellowships (UKEFF) 2010, will be previewed on June 5, 5.30 pm, in association with the National Geographic Channel.

The venue is Auditorium, National Gallery of Modern Art, Palace Road.
These films are based on climate change themes chosen for this year — Adapting Cities and Conserving Water Resources. The films are Wheeling in Change by Nina Subramani, Notes from a Green City by Madhyama Subramanian, Blocks of Green by Bishnu Dev Halder and Jitendra Adappa, The Miracle Water Village by Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh, Vanishing Waterbodies by Ajay Bedi and Vijay Bedi.
