Brazil stay on top of FIFA rankings

»Brazil remained top of the latest FIFA rankings on Wednesday while World Cup hosts South Africa jumped seven places after winning two friendly matches, reports Reuters from Zurich.
There were no changes in the top five with Brazil followed by Spain, Portugal, Netherlands and Italy. South Africa moved from 90th to 83rd after wins over Jamaica and Thailand.
The top ten includes one team, Croatia, who did not qualify for the World Cup. The lowest-ranked of the Cup finalists are North Korea who climbed one place to 105th.

Mueller crashes, needs stitches
»Germany striker Thomas Mueller crashed during a mountain bike run with squad members at their Italian pre-World Cup training camp, needing several stitches to his injured chin, the team said on Wednesday, reports Reuters from Berlin.
Mueller only arrived on Tuesday after playing for Bayern Munich in their Champions League final defeat by Inter Milan in Madrid on Saturday.
"Thomas Mueller slipped and slightly scraped his knee and injured his chin that required some stitches," team spokesman Harald Stenger said. "But he did not sustain any bone or muscle injuries."
Germany have already seen goalkeeper Rene Adler, captain Michael Ballack and midfielder Christian Traesch ruled out with injuries.

Germans get visit from drug testers
»Germany, preparing in Italy, were taken by surprise when six doping testers showed up unannounced on Wednesday, reports Reuters from Berlin. "Six NADA testers arrived today for an unexpected doping control," German federation spokes-man Harald Stenger said.
