Politicians become grey and shrewd to survive: Ajay

"I think every politician has to become grey and he becomes so even if he does not want to. I think politicians have to do some bad work to survive. They need to be shrewd and play games to be in politics," Ajay told PTI here.

"You have to be smart to do good politics and to counter bad people. I think people in politics turn out to be bad," he said. The 40-year-old actor will be next seen in upcoming film 'Rajneeti'. Directed by Prakash Jha, the movie is a modern day Mahabharat in a political setting and is slated for a June 4 release.

Besides Ajay, the other star case in the film include Nana Patekar, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai.

"I think power corrupts people. People want to do good things but once they come to power they become corrupt. You can't just blame the politicians. They come from our society, we bring them. If they become corrupt, we are corrupt, the whole society, whom we blame, is corrupt," the actor said.

The actor further says he would personally like to know politicians, to understand them, be it good or bad.

"We have heard a lot of bad things about politics. But why blame politicians as we only elect them? Corruption is there within the people and society. People have started to accept corruption in politics," Ajay further said.

However, he was quick to add that voting, not complaining will change the current scenario. "We all must vote and it is important. If we want a change or improvement in the system, then people must vote and stop cribbing. Politics is important for any nation and good politics is very important to run the country. If right people come to politics, the country will prosper,"

A lot will change as young leaders like Rahul Gandhi and others are taking charge, Ajay said. "There is hope from young politicians like Rahul Gandhi and others. I think a lot will change," he said.
