The girl has been identified as Sushmita Ningangouda Shinnur. She hails from Gajendragad town in Gadag district. It has been stated that Sushmita, along with her parents, had gone to Bagalkot recently, and she was high on fever when she returned.
She was admitted to a local hospital, but when the fever did not recede, she was shifted to the SDM Hospital. At the hospital, the doctors confirmed that she was suffering from Dengue fever. However, the girl succumbed to the fever on Monday night.
