In the quarterfinals, Paes and Dlouhy play the winner of the match between Frenchmen Thierry Ascione and Laurent Recouderc and Polish pair of Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski.
Paes, who is the lone surviving Indian in the clay court Grand Slam, has also reached the second round of the mixed doubles events in company of Cara Black of Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi’s doubles campaign was cut short in the second round with a straight-set defeat against local pair of Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra.
The unseeded Indo-Pak pair lost the men’s doubles clash 5-7, 3-6 to the 15th seed local favourites.
