These seven touchstones for success, according to Infosys are: Digital consumers; emerging economies; sustainable tomorrow; smart organisations; new commerce; pervasive computing and healthcare economy.

According to Infosys “realising the full potential of these drivers is important for tomorrow’s enterprise to forge ahead of competition.” Observe Infosys Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director S Gopalakrishnan and Chief Operating Officer & Director S D Shibulal “during tough economic environment, we focused our efforts on gaining knowledge and capabilities to build tomorrow’s enterprises.”

Among these seven sootras for success, notes Infosys, are digital consumers who are redefining the value propositions. Being no longer passive, they seek ubiquitous connectivity, transparency and information, are not dependent on organisations but themselves and each other. Self-service is a trend redefining how enterprises of
tomorrow engage customers, notes Infosys.

With “active, informed and assertive consumers demanding greater personalisation in the way products and services are delivered to them,” Infosys calls for “digital engagement,” through which enterprises “actively listen to consumers proactively involving them in the co-creation of new products and services.” Digital consumers, today, are a phenomenal business entity, postulate Gopalakrishnan and Shibulal.

In this regard, eludicating that emerging economies provide global enterprises opportunity to engage with millions of consumers for new products and services, and that emerging economies are attractive destinations for smart sourcing, Gopalakrishnan and Shibulal note that today “innovation, talent and technology are now being shaped and led by them.”

Likewise, Infosys also goes on to stress the need for investing in a sustainable tomorrow, taking to pervasive computing, besides simplifying, collaborating, learning and adapting technologies for furthering organisational success as mobility is opening up array of business avenues breaking geographic barriers of conducting  business.
