DC sets 2 months deadline for renovation of Kalamandira

At a meeting here, Assistant Director of Department of Kannada and Culture, Manjappa said that the work of false ceiling has been taken up at a cost of Rs 41 lakhs and it will be completed within a week. Officials of Public Works Department said that proposals for sound effects at Rs 48 lakhs and lighting at Rs one crore have been submitted for approval. The DC asked them to submit a detailed report after taking opinion from experts.

A proposal for Rs 1.81 crore has been submitted to the State Government for overall development of Kala Mandira and it should be kept ready to host cultural programmes during Dasara festival by completing all works by then.

Plan for Balbhavan

The officials of Department of Woman and Child Welfare and Mysore Urban Development Authority, at a meeting convened by the DC here to discuss regarding development of Balbhavan,  informed that a plan for development of Balbhavan under public-private partnership at an estimated cost of Rs 4.05 crore has been prepared. The officials were instructed to place plan report and design prepared by a private company in next meeting. Decision could be taken only after personal inspection. Deputy director of Department of Woman and Child Welfare N R Vijay said that repair of track of toy train is complete and that the train will run within a month.

The officers of PWD were asked to submit an estimate up to Rs 25 lakh and submit the same for urgent requirements. The Balbhavan in Hyderabad is good and officials should develop Mysore Balbhavan on its line, the DC demanded.
