Yeddyurappa plans surprise visits

Speaking to mediapersons after holding a meeting with officials of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Chikmagalur districts at the deputy commissioner’s office here on Friday, Yeddyurappa said, the surprise visits are aimed at streamlining administration.

Hobli-level meeting

Yeddyurappa said, he had asked the officials to hold hobli-level meetings every Saturdays, to understand the problems of the region and to find solutions. “I have also directed district in-charge secretaries to conduct spot visits and discuss problems with officials and people concerned,” the Chief Minister added.
Talking about issues related to naxal-infested areas, Yeddyurappa said that he has directed DCs, assistant commissioners, tahsildars and zilla panchayat chief executive officers to visit the naxal-infested areas regularly and make arrangements for the distribution of compensations to the deserved.
