<p>The park, built at an overall investment of Rs 200 crore, will generate employment to about 4000 people. “Out of total project cost of Rs 85 crore, union ministry of textiles has sanctioned grant of Rs 34 crore under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Park (SITP). The remaining funds are being raised by Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) through private sources and banks,” Maran said. <br /><br />Basic infrastructure within the park has reached completion, with buildings accomodating 69 weaving and garmenting units, a common facility centre for sizing and warping, 75 weaving units with 600 looms and 8 apparel factories with 500 sewing machines. Other developments would include dedicated power supply, roads, storm water drainage and sewerage systems, water storage and treatment facility and eco-friendly effluent treatment facility being set up. <br /><br />Maran said “A total of 40 parks have been sanctioned throughout the country. On completion, all these parks are expected to have an investment of Rs 20,000 crore and employment generation in the order of 5 lakh.” The ministry is planning skill development programmes to train 30 lakh workers over a 5 year period with an outlay of Rs 2,200 crore. <br /></p>
