DC warns action against erring officials

He was speaking at the Prime Minister’s Special Package Scheme review meeting here on Tuesday. He said the funds released under Vidarbha package to horticulture, dairy, watershed, minor irrigation, large and medium irrigation departments must be utilised in time. The utilisation of funds should not be delayed, he directed and said that the scheme should reach the beneficiaries.

Zilla Panchayat CEO A B Ibrahim directed the officials to create awareness on the Prime Minister’s Special Package scheme.

Agriculture department Joint Director K R Krishnaiah said there is enough fund under PM’s special package scheme. He also urged the minor irrigation, watershed, horticulture, veterinary, fisheries department to submit a progress report at the earliest.

Veterinary department Deputy Director Krishnamurthy said it has been decided to provide financial assistance to start piggery, and poultry farming units. Each unit will get an assistance of Rs 47,000. Horticulture department Assistant Director said Rs 334 lakh has been released under National Horticulture Mission during 2009-10. A sum of Rs 308 lakh had been utilised so far.
