President's XI take firm grip of the match

On the second day of the four-day match here, President’s XI, overnight 18 for no loss, rode on Nair (86, 225b, 12x4) and Raghu’s (76, 179b, 11x4, 1x6) efforts to finish the day at a healthy 276 for four in 96 overs, a lead of 37 runs and looking to build much more on the advantage.

KL Rahul added to City XI woes with a useful 57.  
SL Akshay, who had propped up City XI’s total with a fighting 47 on Tuesday, sparkled with the ball too, picking up three of the four wickets to fall on the day.

Chipli shines

At the RSI ground, Bangalore Zone were sitting pretty on 262 for five from 92 overs at close on the opening day against Combined XI.

Bharath Chipli was the top-scorer with a well-crafted 96 while KV Darshan struck 56. CM Gautam (38) and Tejas Wagle (35) chipped in with their bit. All-rounder B Akhil claimed two for 37 for Combined.
