Akka Nagalambika, is said to be the constant source of support for Basavanna during his movement to reform the society through Vachana Kranti during 12th century. While Basavanna joined the Kudalasangama after ‘Kalyana Kranti,’ Nagalambika is said to have turned to Tarikere and started an ashram at Yennehole with followers of Basavanna. Later, she is believed to have attained Nirvana here. The tomb which has a history of 1200 years is now in dilapidated state.

After media spoke elaborately about the sorry state of the tomb couple of years ago, religious heads came together and formed a committee. They had declared to make the place as beautiful as Kudalasangama and make it a religious centre as well. Unfortunately, after hogging tones of publicity, these seers and religious heads never returned to make their declarations a reality.

Local resident Thippe Rudrappa says that parthenium plants have grown luxuriously and due to the dense vegetation, people who want to come here, back out because the place looks scary. He says that if Government provides funds, then this place can be developed and maintained like Kudalasangama but what is lacking is the political will.
