Teen survives 7-storey fall

Grace Ford, 17, who had been out celebrating the end of her school exams with friends in Majorca, fell when she tried to sneak out of a room where Briton Edward Soppet, 18, was staying.

Ford, who broke her legs, her pelvis and right arm, was discovered hours later by hotel staff lying. Tests showed that while Ford suffered internal bleeding, her spine is undamaged, meaning she should be walking again in four months.

Soppet, who is believed to have helped her climb out of the window and then gone back to bed, is being investigated. If charged and convicted he could be jailed for up to four years for failing to help the woman. “Our investigation revolves around how it came to be that he went back to sleep after the woman fell from seven storeys up,” police said.
