Addressing a press conference in Bangalore, party spokespersons Dhananjay Kumar and C T Ravi said Shivakumar should prove his allegations or tender a public apology.
They said Shivakumar had insulted the student community by charging that the papers were leaked as a reward for those students who participated in the anti-terrorism rally organised by the government.
They also said that senior Congress leader and former chief minister S Bangarappa had insulted the people’s mandate by alleging that liquor and money had played a prime role in the victory of B Y Raghavendra of the BJP from Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency.
